The Blue Diamond Highway (HWY 159) in southern Nevada offers some spectacular views of the Spring Mountains. Located in this area are Bonnie Springs Ranch, Spring Mountain State Park and Red Rock National Conservation Area. There’s an endless amount of hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking and exploring opportunities all throughout this area. As you make the drive, you’ll find several turnouts for parking, along with trailheads connecting you to a great number of local hikes. So, you don’t need to go to the crowded parks (like Red Rock National Conservation Area) to enjoy this wilderness…you can go do it all on your own and avoid the crowds.

159 is not blue diamond highway. It is red rocks canyon road. Hwy 160 is blue diamond hwy
Hi Otis – Thanks for checking out my blog! Actually, both names are correct, according to NVDOT. 159 changes names, by Blue Diamond (and close to where it meets up with 160) its called “Blue Diamond.” But, the stretch of road in between the “Red Rock Canyon South” marker and the park entrance it’s called Red Rock Canyon Rd. So, just depends on where you happen to be at on 159. Thanks!
