There’s not much left of the old town of Bullfrog, mainly some crumbling structures, exposed foundations and old miner’s litter.  There’s also the remains of the cemetery, used not just for Bullfrog, but also for nearby Rhyolite. 

By 1905, Bullfrog had a population of around 1,000 people, but by 1907 it was abandoned.  Today, there’s a sign pointing to the cemetery, with a newer monument erected in 1959, to remember those that helped open the West.  The plaque reads:

“Bullforg – Rhyolite Cemetery 1904 – 1912.  This enduring bronze plaque is placed here to the blessed memory of those who sleep herein, and to the remembrance of all the others who came this way and opened up this great Nevada desert mining-world. By those who cared…April 1959” 

It’s unclear how many people are buried here and there’s not much left for many of the graves.  But, there are a lot of raised mounds, indicating the locations of old graves, so please be respectful.  Only a couple headstones remain with visible names, the rest are lost to history…what a lonely place to die.
