Groom Lake Road is just southeast of Rachel, NV. It’s best known for it’s namesake…Groom Lake, also known as Area 51. If you want, you can drive up to the base entrance, but make sure you DON’T cross the border…you will be arrested! This happens occasionally to folks that get too careless. In fact, there are signs posted that lethal force is allowed. All along the road is public, right up to the border of Nellis Test Site, so you can feel free to off-road, hike, camp, etc. It’s your land. But, just know that you will be watched and monitored. Besides the high-tech sensors all along this area, just the dust trail from your vehicle is visible for many miles. If you want to get a better view, you’re best off making the hike up Tikaboo Peak.

Groom lake is now a join venture with the UK, planes fly from groom lake to a base in the Highlands of Scotland. Research in the UK was needed to stop daily workers being identified boarding Janet flights and inferior staff being employed.
