Joshua Tree National Park (JTNP) is an awesome ecosystem in southern California. The park itself contains a wide diversity of geology, ancient rock art, mountains, etc. It’s an area where the Mojave Desert and Colorado Desert converge. It’s a good-size park, covering 1,235 square miles, a little bigger than the state of Rhode Island. It’s easily accessible via a 3-hour drive from LA, San Diego, or Las Vegas. This area of JTNP is very popular and has several campgrounds and designated trails.
