The Lake Mead National Recreation Area (LMNRA) in southern Nevada (and parts of northern Arizona) bills itself as “America’s most diverse national recreation area.” It’s easy to see why they state this…beautiful mountains, narrows, valleys, dormant volcanoes, Lake Mead, ancient Native American petroglyphs, historical abandoned mines, etc.
LMNRA is MASSIVE, encompassing more than 1.5 Million acres and includes Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Lake Mohave and surrounding areas, bleeding into the Grand Canyon and Parashant ecosystems.
