Parashant National Monument is part of the broader Grand Canyon ecosystem, but more off the beaten path, and thus no people / crowds! We made camp on the cliff’s edge at Whitmore Canyon, about 1,200′ above the Colorado River…stunningly beautiful and peaceful. The drive here was awesome, too, starting at St. George, UT and then going 78 miles offroad through Mt. Trumbull, taking a side trip to see the petroglyphs at Nampaweap, and past the Bar 10 Ranch. Just make sure to bring extra fuel with you…you’ll need it!
