The Southern Nevada Mine is located directly off HWY US-95, just outside Searchlight, NV. This mine primarily was used for mining, gold, silver, copper, zinc and lead. For being so close to the highway, you’d expect there to be graffiti, litter, etc. But, there’s none of that…it’s in remarkably good condition with several still-standing structures and leftover equipment. Due to its location, this is a great place for anyone to be able to explore. Like many mines in the area, the mine shaft is still open and exposed, going hundreds of feet straight down…so be careful!
