Valley of Faces is a dirt road through a canyon in the White River Narrows Archaeological District. The road itself is probably only about 3.5 miles long and follows the wash. It’s relatively maintained, but some sections can contain some very deep sand, so 4-wheel drive is recommended (and appropriate recovery gear). This valley got it’s name from some of the unique stone structures that can resemble the profile of faces. There’s also a section (the far east section of the canyon) known as the Stone Cathedral area, due to the tall, narrow columns of stone resembling a cathedral. It’s a beautiful drive and can be more appreciated by getting out and hiking around. There are also some pictographs in the canyon, too. The White River Narrows area has LOTS of rock art, please see my blog for many more options.

Great pictures! Reminders me of the Anza Borrego desert east of San Diego. Adding to my list.
