Wee Thump Joshua Tree Wilderness Area is a small (6,054 acres) wilderness area designated to protect an old growth, dense Joshua Tree forest.  It’s located in the very southern tip of Nevada, with the closest towns being Searchlight, NV and Nipton, CA.  There are some very easy to navigate dirt roads going through the protected area, with some occasional ATV use and campers.  Highway 164 runs through this area and is known as the “Joshua Tree Highway.”  The amount of very large, very old Joshua trees make this a truly special place and popular with the off-roading crowd.
